The future

The History of the United States is a reminder that this country was formed by immigrants who wanted a better future. They came and still come from every part of the world with the desire to succeed.Today there are 12 million illegal immigrants living in the United States (Pawlick and Finley). Both the Bush and Obama administration haven't being able to come up with an agreement on how to deal with these people who are in this situation . One thing is certain; the future of this Nation will need immigrants. As population grows and baby boomers begin to retire, the immigrants will make a difference in the labor force of the United States. It is estimated that in 20 years immigrants will be the majority of the labor force of the US . Furthermore , in the next fourth decades immigrants will be 60 percent of the population growth in the US (Pawlick and Finley). The growth of a population is an important key for the economy of this and any nation.

  2. I agree about that most of America's work force will be people moving to America but the main concern is are they illegal immigrants or do they gain citizenship. I found out that those who are illegal citizens recive more money from the government then they give back in taxes. There was research done and then it was published by the Heritage Foundation about the amount of money recived and paid back in taxes.
    This was the quote.
"The average illegal immigrant family receives an average of $30,000 in governmental benefits! Yet they pay only about $9,000 in taxes per year. That creates a $21,000 shortfall that the American taxpayer has to make up. That's like buying each of the illegal immigrant families a brand new Mustang convertible -- each and every year!" (Joel)
With this quote if we have 60% of the work force illegal immigrants then we have a problem since they are not at least paying for what they take in. That means the citizens of America have to pick up the slack and pay the extra amount to cover the difference of, average, $21,000 a year every year. This nation is already in debt and we dont need to go further into debt. I have no problem if they want to become United States citizens or even get dual citizenship but my main issue is those that dont follow the rules and make more work for the legal tax payers
