Security its important as well.

On one hand , I agree that the United Sates need to reinforce the borders to protect the citizens against any kind of terrorism .But on the other hand, I still insist that the real treat are not the 12 million illegal or unducomented immigrants who are here to be providers for their families and the chance for a better future.First, because of the action some not all the immigrants should be labeled as a problem for this country. Before the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the US Congress compromised to attend the need for an immigration reform which would allowed the 12 million undocumented immigrants to have a path to become legal residents (Pawlick and finley). Since the attacks on the world trade center the US Congress stepped back their decisions and legislation against immigrants its being on the ascent as well as the support for the laws (Pawlick and Finley). It will only make sence to legalize the 12 million unducomented immigrants that way the corresponding agencies would take care of the real terrorist who want to compromise the security of the United States Security (Pawlick and Finley).
Second, in 1996 the 287 g law became effecttive. This law gives the police officers the ability to work as an immigration agent. Since then, States like North Carolina has been deporting illegal immigrants just because they cant show a driver license (Policias). I just think this really doesnt help either security of this nation or immigrants. Policy to legalize the illegal immigrants should be a priotity for the government, so the laws could be aim to real treats and to fight the real terrorist. In a recent interviewed the police agencies from North Carolina decided to give their full support for legizlation that would legalize the undocumented immigrants, by doing this the think community would be safer and the agencies would be able to go full force against the real criminals and terrorist(Policias). Philosopher Binswanger quotes " The desire of freedom and economic supply and demand are the driving forces behind immigration" ( Pawlick and Finley).

  1. I don't think this is really about fighting the dangers of terrorism so much as supply and demand, like Binswanger said. Though border control helps keep criminals out of the United States, that's just an added incentive aside from preserving the limited resources of the United States for its legal residents. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security are two different departments after all, and I don't see how giving legal citizenship to 12 million undocumented immigrants is going to help us stop terrorism like you say... Actually probably the opposite, to be honest.
